Flexible TV Viewing

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Flexible TV Viewing project has the objective to implement an iPad application that enables the users to find television programs. The developed application offers a unique and creative way to discover TV content from various sources (Live, Recorded or VoD), according to the set of user-selectable criteria (TV genre, duration, rating or companionship).

The ShaPLE projects pretends to design, develop and assess communication mechanisms which will allow the sharing of information and communication between members of an online community, such as a Social Bookmarking platform, which allows the aggregation and sharing of resources with the community and a content recommendation system that is dynamically built to answer users’ profile and learning preferences.

Young people today are constantly immersed in the dynamics of consumption of media content, from television to the Internet, which puts them in a privileged position of access to cultural content and the establishment of cross-border relationships.  In this context the experience power media should increase awareness that young Europeans (and the young Portuguese in particular) have each other and be an opportunity to develop respect, mutual recognition and curiosity, pluralism, freedom and cooperation. Does the language of media language shared by young people across Europe that enhances their approach despite the linguistic and sociocultural diversity of each country, especially the young Portuguese?
