Sofia Ribeiro is an Invited Assistant Professor and integrated member of DigiMedia working at the intersection of Human–Computer Interaction, User eXperience design, and teachers’ digital competencies. She holds a PhD in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms from the Universities of Porto and Aveiro. During her studies, she collaborated closely with third-cycle and upper-secondary teachers to develop Dig2Phy (https://dig2phy.web.ua.pt/), a digital platform for creating tangible educational materials that comply with design principles and pedagogical workflows.
Her research focuses on designing, developing and evaluating user-centred digital platforms, particularly in the context of educational technologies and sustainability. She has participated in several interdisciplinary research projects exploring how digital and tangible technologies can promote learning, engagement, and skill development.
Her research interests within Social Sciences, namely Sciences and Technologies of Communication, have as frequent areas of scientific, technological and artistic-cultural production: Human-Computer Interaction, User-Centred Design, User eXperience, Digital Competencies, Digital and Tangibles approaches, Educational Materials, and Environmental Awareness.
