Pedro Beça has a degree in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications from the University of Aveiro (2002), a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications from the University of Aveiro (2006) and a PhD in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms from the University of Aveiro and the University of Porto (2013). He has been an assistant professor in the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro since 2007 and is a member of the DigiMedia – Digital Media and Interaction Research Centre research unit. His areas of interest are: user engagement using digital and analogue technologies to promote knowledge and learning and behavioural change, especially in environmental and sustainability contexts; the development of web and mobile applications, especially in the design, implementation and validation phases; and conceptual and technical development in the area of physical computing.
