Clinical TRIALS Workshop Promotes Discussion on Research Involving Sensitive Data

As part of the Clinical TRIALS – Revolutionizing Experimental Approaches with Data-driven Yield project, a workshop was held on June 5 in room 21.1.8 to discuss the challenges associated with research involving sensitive data, with a particular focus on the healthcare domain.

The session brought together researchers and technical staff from different fields, who took part in collaborative activities focused on future scenarios related to study planning, data management, and the ethical and regulatory requirements of research. The main objective of the workshop was to gather input for the development of an artificial intelligence based solution designed to support data management and analysis, as well as the assessment and compliance processes associated with research projects.

The outcomes of the workshop are currently being analysed and will contribute to the definition of functional requirements and to the further development of the platform in the next stages of the project.

At DigiMedia, the project involves researchers Rita Oliveira, Catarina Lélis, and Mário Vairinhos, with the special participation of PhD research fellow Rúben Duarte in this workshop. The project is coordinated by Rui Patrício, from DEGEIT/GOVCOPP, in collaboration with several national partners.
