Vanessa Santos Silva Corrêa Pinto is a researcher from Brazil who is studying how technology can improve the lives of older people. She is currently working on her PhD at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) in Brazil, and is also carrying out research at the University of Aveiro.
Vanessa’s main goal is to understand how technology can be used to help older people learn new things, communicate better and look after their health. She is exploring the use of apps, online platforms and smart devices that can help with developing new skills, social interaction and medical monitoring.
Furthermore, Vanessa is keen to collaborate with other researchers and organisations on projects that improve the lives of older people. She believes that technology is very important for social inclusion and for older people to be more independent, allowing them to live more fulfilling lives.
This research is very important, especially now that the population is ageing and technology is constantly evolving. By investigating the different ways of using technology in the lives of older people, Vanessa is helping to build a more inclusive society that is attentive to the needs of this part of the population.
