Conference: Targeting, Fake News and Ciberpopulism: between algorithmic and cyberculture

DigiMedia Research Center presents the conference Targeting, Fake News and Ciberpopulism: between algorithmic and cyberculture.

The recent debate about post-truth confirms the emergence of a society of misinformation based on “confirmation bias” and “echo chambers”. Disintermediation showed its reverse, fallacious credulity.
It is a multidimensional topic that covers journalistic, epistemic, aesthetic, political, educational, sociotechnical and cybercultural issues, to which this conference seeks to contribute.

The conference will be held on  18th October 2017, in the Communication and Art Department of University of Aveiro. We are accepting papers’ proposals until 30th July . Selected papers’ will be published in a special issue of OBS*: Observatório peer-reviewed and Scopus index journal.
