The Seminar “Inteligência Artificial na interface entre Patrimônio Cultural e Fotografia” , takes place on July 3, 2024, from 2:30PM to 3:30PM. The seminar will be led by Carmen Silva, a visiting researcher at DigiMedia, from the Universidade Federal do Pará, Brasil.

BIO: Carmen Silva is an Associate Professor of the undergraduate course in Museology and the master’s course in Cultural Heritage Sciences at the Federal University of Pará, Brazil. PhD in Communication Sciences from Unisinos (RS, Brazil). Master in Information and Communication Sciences from Lyon 2 University (France). Specialist in Visual Poetics: Engraving, Photography and Digital Imaging from Feevale University (RS, Brazil). Works in the areas of Communication, Museology, Cultural Heritage and Arts, with emphasis on digital culture, image and photography, diversity and inclusion. Currently, she conducts her Post-Doctoral research at the Department of Communication and Art (University of Aveiro, Portugal).

Abstract: The seminar will address the potential and challenges of Artificial Intelligence through the connection between Cultural Heritage and Photography. It is an invitation to reflect on the meaning of these innovations, considering the directions of this relationship.
