Happy – Health Awareness and Prevention Personalized for You

SHORT DESCRIPTION

Happy is a cancer prevention mobile app that uses personal information data and instant contextual data to tailor the contents provided to the user in the form of daily suggestions (notifications/short messages). This app acts in real-life settings in terms of behaviour change and cancer prevention knowledge as it aims to persuade users to change their behaviour, making healthier choices, thus reducing their personal risk of developing several types of cancer. The main focus is based in the persuasive power of triggers, and several strategies based on different behaviour change techniques such as barrier identification, prompting, social support, social comparison, and behaviour modelling.

The main objective of this project is to develop a digital game aiming the prevention and awareness of dating violence, exploring digital media potential in diverse fields, which calls for a collaborative effort, the project crosses different areas, namely: (i) game design, development and evaluation; (ii) e-health; (iii) and digital media impact in social, educational and cultural contexts.

PROJECT TITLE

Application for the elderly to ask for help from volunteers

SHORT DESCRIPTION

This project aims to develop a television application that allows older people, in a simple and quick way, to ask a group of volunteers for support in specific tasks such as small domestic repairs or accompany in a visit to the doctor. It is intended that the application, currently under development, allows that certain actions, such as making a request to a volunteer, can also be performed by voice.
