Leonardo Pereira Tavares is a Brazilian researcher with a bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, specializing in Educommunication, from the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). He is a master’s student in Communication at the Graduate Program in Communication of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). He is also enrolled as an exchange student in the Department of Communication and Arts at the University of Aveiro (UA), Portugal, supported by FAPESQ (Fundação de Apoio à Pesquisa do Estado da Paraíba – Brazil). His research focuses on digital media, fact-checking, and health misinformation, particularly examining the verification processes in Portugal and Brazil. This study aims to understand the strategies implemented by these countries to combat the spread of health-related misinformation. His broader research interests include communication, culture, educommunication, digital marketing, and media production, emphasizing the complex interactions between media, communication, and society.
